August 31, 200223 yr Last I red here that the EADI is based on Airline restrictions. Does this mean that they use either a Standard-style or a Pegasus-style EADI? Or are there differences between the Aircrafts from one Airline. I like to fly longhauls with the DELTA 767 but as seen on many photos on AIRLINERS.net it seems to me that they use the Standard one. But I prefere the Pegasus-style because it give
September 2, 200223 yr "Last I read here that the EADI is based on Airline restrictions. Does this mean that they use either a Standard-style or a Pegasus-style EADI?"The switch to the updated displays is probably more of a budgetary thing than anything, Matthias. On this subject, probably the least expense is the actual reprogramming/wiring change (although this is not exactly cheap, even if it is done "in-house"... anything you do in the airline business is not cheap). The biggest hurdle would be the expense of retraining the pilots and engineers... and updating the paperwork (wiring diagrams, manuals, certificates, etc).Since this modification process is not instantaneous, there will be, at some point, half your 767 fleet with Standard Style and half your 767 fleet with the newer style (which may answer your question on whether an airline can have both styles).Bugetary restraints aside, I don't see why any airline would not want to switch to the newer style... When they do this, at some point, the newer style will become the "Standard" ;-) I haven't checked out our domestic fleet recently, but all our airline's international 767's displays seem to be the new type... so this is certainly our "standard".I'm not sure of the financial state of Delta, but I'm sure you'll find that, all being well, they will eventually switch to the newer style... if they haven't already done so, that is... As you may have noticed, pictures of cockpits have become much more scarce since 911, so it's hard to tell what is going on (Incidentally, do we have any "insiders" at Delta who visit this forum?).http://www.ozemail.com.au/~iriddell/767/EH...DIAirCanada.jpgAnyway, hope this helps.Cheers.Ian.
September 2, 200223 yr Delta Airlines uses the standard EADI.I was on the Flightdeck of a DL 767 last week and it was definately the standard one.Cheers :(
September 4, 200223 yr If you have a standard style system on ONE plane, does it mean that they have it on ALL of their planes?
