Using PIC with GoFlight

Featured Replies

Curious if anyone else has used PIC with the GoFlight modules, in particular the GF-45 unit which can be configured to have autopilot functions. When dialing HDG on the GF-45 the heading bug on the primary navigation dispay screen changes, but not the heading readout on the MCP (mode control panel). If I change the heading by using the mouse on the MCP, the heading on the GF-45 changes to match the heading on the MCP. Similarly, there is no response on the MCP to changes in ALT or speed on the GF-45, but the GF-45 changes if I change the settings for these items with the mouse on the MCP, Has anyone gotten the MCP functions to respond to the GF-45?Thanks,Rob

Hi Rob,having tried all possible combinations I finally chosen the MCP747 from Aerosoft Australia, an outstanding and affordable product. The PIC AP accepts inputs only via the keyboard input. No programmable USB device (Goflight is based on USB) will get access to PIC

Thanks for the reply.GoFlight informed me that they are working on a fix. I agree with you though about the 747MCP. Mine is on order on the accelerated prepay list so I should have it around the end of September. Will still use the GF-45 for its many other functions.Rob

I remember reading about Goflight not working in pic cause the pic auto pilot system is more real than FS20002 is designed for, in fact the pic auto is as real as real can be. In any case it doesn't work properly in pic. Louis
