September 7, 200223 yr Does anyone know how to map the additional PIC panel functions to controller buttons? I've got both the CH USB Yoke and the CH Pro Throttle, and when I go into the PIC panel assignments, it does not recognize either controller. Any ideas? If I assign PIC functions to the controller buttons do they override the ones assigned through the FS Assigments screen? What happens when the pic panel is not loaded? Do the FS assigned function work? Thanks for any suggestionsPeter
September 7, 200223 yr Peter,As far as I know - you can not assign PIC specific functions to the yoke. You can however assign any normal functions to the yoke through the normal FS2002 interface.Afterwards - the same functions will be used in other aircraft. FOr example, if you set a switch on your yoke for Flaps, Trim, and Gear - then those buttons will also control your flaps, trim, and gear in all other aircraft.Hope this helps - let me know if you need any other help - the yoke and pedals are tricky to set up - but once you make it through - they are totally amazing.Ian Elchitz CYWG
September 7, 200223 yr Ian,Huh?On my CH Flight Yoke USB I can assign buttons to specific PIC functions (e.g. engage left/centre/right autopilot). As far as I know these a not common FS commands. However, I make sure that button 9 is not used for standard FS commands; PIC and FS can get very confused by that.If you want two different setups (jet and prop) you can make two fs2002.cfg files (in different names of course) and rename them as required for the flight. Kind regards,Stephan Haas
September 7, 200223 yr Ian, thanks for your input, however, I was refering to the PIC specific assignments under the PIC | Settings | Custom Controls option in the FS2002 menu. It allows you to set PIC panel specific commands to controller buttons, but pressing buttons on my controllers does not do anything. It would be really nice to get some MCP and ECAS command on the controllers.
September 7, 200223 yr Peter,Funny thing is that in the PIC assign menu you can't choose the controller (like in the normal FS menu). I have two controllers (yoke and pedals) and it works. Perhaps PIC only looks at the first controller? You might want to experiment with this (be sure to make a backup of your fs2002.cfg file first!).Kind regards,Stephan Haas
