SID/STAR programming ?

Featured Replies

Repost off usenet as i didnt get any joy off there. Sorry if youve seen it before.---Can anyone help me by explaining how to program a SID (or STAR etc)procedure into the FMC on 767 PIC ?Ive gone through the tutorial and know how to enter it into LEGS, save itand so on but the cant work out the actual procedure and waypoints neededfor this particular one.Its a simple(ish) procedure so i'll list it here.As an example im trying to enter the Gatwick SAM2M departure.Basically its take off from runway 26L (heading 262deg) direct to the GY NDBOn passing the NDB, maintain heading 262 until intercepting the MID radial067Proceed inbound to MID.From MID route to SAMThere are height restrictions but i know how to enter those.I started off entering the GY ndb waypoint (so far so good)After passing the NDB there are 2 height restrictions:MID dme 10 (2500A) and MID dme 8 (3000A)Here my problems begin...I can enter those 2 DME distances as waypoints OR i can enter theGY262/MID067 waypoint but not both.Ideally id like GY > 262 > MID10 > MID8 > MID067 > MID > SAM but cant seemto enter it like that.Basically then i know how to create an intercept waypoint from reading themanual, i know how to create a vor distance waypoint but i cant seem toinsert both into the same route. Can anyone talk me through how to add this SID either via the FMC or textfile editing ?Sorry the post is long - didnt really want to skip the detail.
