Flight Plan Export

Featured Replies

Hi,Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to export a route from the 767 PIC FMC to FS2002 pln format? The reason I want to do this is because I use FS Meteo weather and the departure runways and SID's vary depending upon the prevailing conditions. My current procedure using PSS is to load the route into the FMC as normal and then after getting the correct ATIS I add the appropriate RWY & SID and then export it to FS2002 pln format, is this possible with 767 PIC?That way I can then use the FS2002 Flight Planner for ATC purposes and the two routes will be identical to prevent ATC directing me off somewhere else.I've gone through all the manuals but can't find anything in there.Thanks,Steve.

Here's how I create flight plans:1.) Build flight plan in FSNavigator (typically get real world routes from either www.simatc.com or Ian's great Flight Planner at www.laartcc.org) as I fly on VATSIM.2.) Save the flight plan and use it as a reference during the flight (i.e easy acess the VOR names, ARTCC location, etc.)3.) Export the route to a FS2k2 flight plan.4.) Import the created FS2k2 flight plan into FSMETEO.5.) Import the created FS2k2 flight plan into the PIC767, PSS A320, DF734, and almost every other add-on aircraft.I've used this method for a long time and it works great. I also keep track of all my filed/created routes on a notepad document with their distance and any addtional notes about the route I might need. About once a month or so, I backup the flight plans on a CD. Hope this has been some help to you and maybe a few others. :-)Ryan-Flightpro08 :-coolVATSIM Pilot/ControllerZLA ARTCC Controller 1 (C-1)SAN TRACON Lead [link:www.taxiwaysigns.com]Taxiwaysigns.com Scenery Designer-----------------------------My "Home Made" System Specs:Intel Pentium 4 2.2GHz ProcessorTurbo Gamer ATX Mid-Tower with 420W Power SupplyEPoX 4G4A Motherboard with Intel 845G ChipsetVisiontek XTASY GeForce4 128MB Ti4600 (Det 29.42 WHQL Drivers)512MB PC2100 DDR RAM40GB Matrox 7200RPM Hard DriveWindows XP Home Edition SP1*No CPU or GPU Overclocking*3dMark2001SE Score: 11298

Steve,You need a small utility called pic2fs written by Jason Barlow for this very purpose. Download pic2fs11.zip (from the library here or at Flightsim.com, I think), follow the included instructions and all your existing PIC *.rte plans will be quickly (and acurately) converted to *.pln format.I've used many of my converted plans for the same purpose as you intend and the two match perfectly. The advantage of this method over Ryan's excelent suggestion is that you can still use *.rte version of the plan with PIC thus allowing you to keep any level/speed entries you've made which are not available in the *.pln versionPete
