October 10, 200223 yr After touch down and start manual break, normally the autobreak will switched to disable, but sometimes it remained on, does anyone know the answer?
October 11, 200223 yr >After touch down and start manual brake, normally the >autobrake will switched to disable, but sometimes it >remained on, does anyone know the answer?Push harder? There is a hydraulic pressure sensors on each of the Antiskid Shuttle Valves in the Left and Right Main Gear wells which sense how hard you are pushing on the brake pedals. When they sense 450~550psi, an electrical signal is sent to the Antiskid/Autobrake Control Unit to deactivate the Autobrakes. If you think you're pushing hard enough, I'd call for an engineer ;-)Actually, the most common fault with the 767 Autobrake system is that they trip off during rollout. The 450~550 psi pressure at the shuttle valves is achieved with only an inch or so of brake pedal movement.... If the Antiskid/Autobrake Control Unit has not logged any faults and there are no previous reports of Antiskid/Autobrake problems, we usually attribute the trip-off to the F/O bracing him/herself against the brake pedals after the Captain has made a bad landing :-hah)Hope this helps?Cheers.Ian.
October 11, 200223 yr Thanks Ian, this one is a really clear explaination of how the auto-brake works!! i will start to push my joystick botton harder, if i push it very hard and it still doesn't work, can you call a doctor for my finger? ;) (sorry for my english....i mean Auto-(brake), really don't want the big guy to break something for me~~) :-lol
October 11, 200223 yr Actually, Tomchou, I have the same problem... So please let me know if you find a solution for PIC ;-)I also have a problem with the brakes tripping off automatically during rollout. If it wasn't for the sticky runways in FS2002, I would probably end up on the golf course at the end of the runway :-hahhttp://www.ozemail.com.au/~iriddell/767/Australian.jpgCheers.Ian.
October 11, 200223 yr I haven't had any problem with the autobrakes not disengaging. What joystick are you using? Have you fiddled with the setting (Repeat) in either FS2002 or the joystick's software? Change the Repeat function around for that assigned button and see if it helps. If not using the autobrake, do the brakes work when using the assigned joystick button? Does the plane slow down?Does it disengage when pressing the period key on the keyboard? You may also try reassigning the break function to another button or reassigning the button to another function temporarily.Have you always had this problem or is it new? If new, have you changed anything in the interim? For example, FSUIPC?From your description it appears to happen intermittently. It may be that the joystick button is not sending a reliable signal sufficient to trip the autobreak disengage mechanism. Testing a different button may rule out this possibility. If all else fails, blame it on gremlins. Them pesky buggers are responsible for all kinds of mischief in aviation.
October 11, 200223 yr >I haven't had any problem with the autobrakes not >disengaging. What joystick are you using?Hi, Ken.I'm using an analog Logitech Wingman Attack joystick. I've tried setting the repeat rate slider for the brake at 100% and 50% without success. I've also tried to use the full stop.>If not using the autobrake, do the brakes work when using >the assigned joystick button? Does the plane slow down?No problems here. >You may also try reassigning the break function to another >button or reassigning the button to another function >temporarily.I'll try this and get back to you. >Have you always had this problem or is it new? If new, have >you changed anything in the interim? For example, FSUIPC? Can't say I recall having this problem prior to using FS2002 and Windows XP (but then I'm not 100% I tried using the brakes to trip off the autobrakes). I haven't tried the FSUIPC program since I updated to Win XP and FS2002.>From your description it appears to happen intermittently. In the last few dozen attempts, it has failed to trip off with the use of the brake. However, it trips off every time when I push the thottles forward during rollout. It always trips off at the end of the runway during Autoland (but I assumed this was the way the Autobrakes had to be programmed?). >If all else fails, blame it on gremlins. Them pesky buggers >are responsible for all kinds of mischief in aviation. Not wrong there! ... although I haven't noticed any sunspots or low flying neutrons in the area prior to this happening :-)Anyway, thanks for your suggestions.Cheers.Ian
October 12, 200223 yr i tried to find the problem by the way you mentioned, but everything seems fine, and actually the problem don't exist before, but it just started these few days, and i'm not sure what i did to occured it, and sometimes it went disarm, sometimetimes i have to do it myself. BTW i'll try to find the solution, hope i can find~~;)
October 13, 200223 yr Ian,I have a similar problem in that when landing as soon as I activate the reversers the autobrake disarms. Therefore I don't get the braking action I should. I have the CH yoke with button 1 assigned to reversers (F2) and CH peddles with toe brakes (F11), (F12). I notice even if using the keyboard the same thing happens. Any clues, anybody?
