Night Textures for PIC/Posky V3

Featured Replies

Perhaps this should be directed specifically to Lee but anyone with a solution is welcomed to comment.I have a sucessful merge but I notice none of the night textures work with the exception of landing lights, strobes and beacons. I don't have window, taxi or tail logo lights nor any regular textures. The particular Posky model is the United Airlines one. Any help would be appreciated. Btw, if it is a DXT problem I only have the DXTBMP program and not ImageTools.

I am having a problem too with the UA merge. I have night textures, but every once and a while they bleed, and then turn psycadalic colours :-) Very, very wierdClear Skies

I responded in email but figured I should make it public too. I did some experimenting last night and concluded that multi-texturing has to be on for gmax night lighting to work. However, Lamont, I realize you already have that on. Did this ever work or did something change recently? If it never worked, it could be your video card and/or driver.Lee Hetherington (KBED)

Sometimes bleeding and blurred textures on the flight model can be cured by zooming all the way in and then pressing BACKSPACE to reset the view. I've noticed some peculiar display oddities with the POSKY v3 on my Ti4400 - fortunately, they don't crop up very often.J

Those can be fixed by deleting all the smaller mipmaps in the DXT .bmp files using imagetool. Since doing this to my POSKY models, I have not had this problem. (nVidia Quadro2 Pro and now Quadro4)Lee Hetherington (KBED)

Thanks guys for your help. I think it might well be with my video card (Voodoo3). Somewhere else I read that the Voodoo3 doesn't work well with some GMAX textures. So this moves the "computer system update" timetable up a few notches. Thanks again.
