October 19, 200223 yr You typically see this with a departure in which you must fly some preassigned heading (usually different from the runway heading) after takeoff out to a certain radial distance from a VOR, at which point you turn (or receive ATC vectors) to join the SID.Usually, I fly these first segments of a departure by hand. However, the above (DME) waypoint exists so that you *could* fly the departure entirely using LNAV from the moment your wheels leave the ground and you engage the A/P.To delete it, line select the second way point (DF163) and then press LSK 1L to insert it as the new first waypoint in the departure.Cheers,J
