October 21, 200223 yr Now Jason. Don't tease people. To the original poster:During the beta period for the FS2002 patch, the PIC Team did experiment with TCAS in the EHSI. However, it was removed from the final patch because it was not ready for public dissemination. I'm sure we'll see it in the next release by WELP.
October 21, 200223 yr The best TCAS I know of is by Bill on his amazing 145 panel. Also, what's WELP and do you think we'll ever have a TCAS on the PIC767?Regards,
October 21, 200223 yr Probably not. I think it's safe to say that barring a full new release of the 767 (maybe FS2004?), you won't be seeing any further enhancements to this product. The PIC team has made it known that another project is in development - likely you might see some of these newer features there.J
October 21, 200223 yr WELP = Wade, Eric, Laurent, and PedroSeeing as how they were looking for a new name (as opposed to PIC Team) some time ago and because none of us really know what name they decided on, I referred to them simply as WELP.
October 21, 200223 yr I'm aware that WELP most probably won't make any updates on PIC, however, due to the © issues on the PIC panel it's a rather tedious task to come up with a TCAS solution that could be distributed openly ! Implementing a TCAS as such within the PIC panel is possible, but who wants to get sued :) Smalco
October 22, 200223 yr Well, I would assume you could always code a new EHSI that incorporates TCAS and anything else you wanted and provide it as an addon to the addon. It wouldn't even have to be an EHSI as many TCAS displays are not dedicated to the EHSI. That would allow for what you want without worrying about legal issues. Changing PIC's default gauges would lead to legal issues if it is provided to others but not if kept to oneself. Afterall, the product does still belong to the PIC Team and Wilco and if they want to update it, they will. If not, it is their choise.BTW, there are products that incorporate TCAS that you can use with PIC.
October 22, 200223 yr Unlikely. The 744 has been clobbered to death - there's no market for it.If I had to guess, it'd likely be an aircraft the team was intimately familiar with (i.e. the SAAB 340, 757, or 727). I doubt the latter, however - there are already 2 high end soon-to-be-released 727's in development.J
