October 27, 200223 yr I've been testing PIC for a few days and am having trouble getting the LOC or APP to work.Tonight I flew from KDFW to KORD. Everything worked like clock work until I reached ORD airspace. I had the ILS APP for 32L input into the FMC but as I lined up the LOC would not kick in.The NAV RAD showed the ILS Freq for 32L under ILS but the VOR 1 was blank. The display on the AFDS showed the correct freq for the ILS that was on AUTO. I tried clicking on the ILS freq in the NAV RAD but kept getting "invald Entry".The other night I flew from KDFW to KIAH and as I made my approach I am sure I clicked on the ILS Freq in the NAV RAD and everything kicked in and I made a Cat III auto landing.Anyone have any suggestions on what I am doing wrong, or is there some info on the web that I have missed. I printed out all the manuals that came with PIC and they don't really cover the LOC in great detail. Thanks Gary Costigan
October 27, 200223 yr Another thing that caught me out is that my FS2002 avionics master switch was off, which disabled the PIC ILS and rendered my vhf radios useless. Rectified in a keystroke!
October 28, 200223 yr Anthony,No the NAV RAD wasn't in "PARK" under the ILS as the manual reads. The freq. for the ILS was there along with the course heading.I do remember playing with some of the settings before I made my flight to IAH and that was when the ILS did work. What would I need to look for or do "as you say solved by a key stroke" to get things corrected? Thanks for your assistance.Gary.Gary Costigan
October 29, 200223 yr Gary, are you ATC comms working? If so it isn't your avionics master. If not check your key assignments in FS2002 for what is assigned to the radios and see if that works.Cheers.
October 29, 200223 yr Hiya..I'am having the same problem..What do you mean by the ILS being in PARK?Maybe that's my problem...- Eggy
October 29, 200223 yr The line on the FMC NAVRAD page should say something like ILS 110.30 270It's in PARK mode if it says something likeILS 110.30 270-PARKClick the corresponding button for that line and it should "unpark" it, ie the word PARK should disappear.I think this applies to AUTO tuning only, so you would have to select your ILS freq from DEP/ARR page.
