High Altitude Weather

Featured Replies

I have been using PIC for quite a short time & would like to know if software exists that allows downloading & integration of high altitude weather (especially winds) with MSFS & PIC. The standard MSFS waether does not reflect the jetstreams that exist above FL300 in our part of the world.I gather FS Meteo does, but at the current Australian $ exchange rates, it is just too expensive for a shareware product.Any suggestions?

FSMeteo is an excellent product. It is hard to imagine another product, particularly commercial, that would be less expensive.Lee Hetherington (KBED)

ActiveSky is gaining popularity, although it's still somewhat immature compared to FSMeteo. However, ActiveSky is freeware where FSMeteo is not. FREE is as good a price one will find.Personally, I've been a little discouraged with FSMeteo since having ponied up $ to upgrade to 5.2. The servers are not as reliable as they have been in the past :(J

I spoke too soon. Looks like the next version of ActiveSKY will be $14.95 - on par with FSMeteo.

I hear you on the 5.2 server issue. A few of us have reinstalled 5.1 as a backup and put the shortcut right next to the one for 5.2. The thing is, when it's working, 5.2 is better.

Still using 5.1 myself. . . whats the benefits to 5.2?
