Hi all I have found an unusual glitch (if that is the correct term) that comes up at some airpports when I am intercepting the localizer. instead of turning the correct heading to intercept it the plane turns away for some strange reason. it does not do this at all airports however so I am starting to think that it is a FS2002 problem -has anyone else encountered this also. by the way I hit the approach button shortly before intercept if this makes a difference.

Is your OBS correctly dialed in? The A/P is a little unusual in this regard in that changing the OBS CRS heading will affect the heading it tracks. That is something worth checking. Are you by chance using NavData by Richard Stefan? There are a whole host of "turning away from the localizer" issues over in the PSS forum also - all of which seem to be coming from individuals using Richards 0211 or 0212 data. I don't know if it was definitively determined that the NavData was the culprit, but it was a common thread. If you're concerned about NavData being a possible culprit, you're welcome to try my Cycle 0210 data or the 0201 data that was posted with the PIC 1.2 patch to see if that addresses the problem.Cheers,JPS. If you do find its a problem with the NavData, please let Ricahrd know as he is actively looking into this issue at last report.
