Featured Replies

Hi All............Maybe someone from WILCO will be able to help me out. When I fly PIC767 I always get a blue screen OE Exception, heres the error message-Exception OE occured at 0028:C00069F8 in VxD VMM (01) + 000059F8 this was called from 0028:0004BFFC in VxD VFAT (01) + 0000A024This is very strange and only happens in PIC767.I am running Windows 98se and a 64MB Geforce 2 graphics card with 256MB ram.Help appreciated. Cannot wait to fly it!!-Shane

A crash in VFAT.VXD is a serious error and suggests corruption on the harddisk or problem with the page file. You might have installed PIC onto bad sectors on the drive (in which case you probably want to start searching for a new hard drive soon). A crash in VFAT can also imply a problem with a driver (SCSI, RAID, Bus Mastering, etc...) - although, the fact that this problem always occurs with PIC leads me to think your problem is likely the former (or something related).Make sure you're not using Patch 1.3 - it's bad and needs to be pulled of the website. 1.2 is what you want.Certainly, I would recommend that you fully uninstall the product. Analyze the drive surface using a tool like Norton Disk Doctor (freeware scanners of varying quality are available on the web as well). Then reinstall and apply the 1.2 patch for FS2002.JPS. This occurred to me later. You should also destroy the page file and recreate it after running a disk diagnostic. With only 256MB of RAM, PIC will push FlightSim's memory usage upwards to around 400MB - so you will definitely be hitting the pagefile quite a bit. If there's a problem with the pagefile, it may be coincidental that a memory intensive app like FS2000 & PIC could cause this problem to manifest itself. The fact that you are getting an error reported by the VMM (Virtual Memory Manager) further suggests that the pagefile may be the culprit.
