December 28, 200223 yr My default PIC FMC VNAV speed setting for cruise mode is .800 which basically maintains .799 on cruise. Is that too slow? Do most PIC simmers use the default cruise ".800 ECON SPD" mode? How much faster can I cruise at: .820? I don't have a lot of FSim time so I am looking to speed up my flights ;-)Also, what is the normal VNAV cruise speed setting on the real-world B767s?Thank you in advance,Kerke (KMIA)---
December 28, 200223 yr Hi Kerko,M 0.80 is the normal cruising speed for the 767.Sometimes on long haul routes, eg over the Atlantic, the flight can be flown at M0.82Mark
December 28, 200223 yr I personally always calculate fuel and then fly at .82 mach with PIC. In the real world airline pilots must not only account for being on time, but many times the company under which they fly pressures thier pilots to save has much fuel as possible.Which would mean flying in such a way that promotes economy rather than speed. I imagine with the way the airlines are now they are all wanting to save on fuel costs.-=MB=-
