January 2, 200323 yr hey everyone. I have a really quick question regarding a message on the FMC."IRS NAV ONLY" What does that mean? and in this case what do I do. I only get this message when pond hoping( Atlantic xings). does it mean you are out of radar range or VOR range or something and must reffer to maps and intersections? please inform me. thank you ver much :-)"... January 2, 200323 yr It means that the navigational computers only have the IRS system to determine the aircraft's position, i.e. you are no longer able to receive VOR signals to back up the IRS. Not much you can do really and if you entered your position correctly navigational errors will be very small. I recommend studying the FMC & the Systems manual for further information.
