767-400 Strobe Effect's? Help PLEASE!

Featured Replies

hey Guy's! I was watching a Continental 767-400 land At HNL Intl, and i saw that the 767-400's have a Nav And Strobe light on the Tail cone!, Now i have added these 2 light's to the POSKY 767-400! They work great but i am looking for someone to make the Strobe light effect's like the ones that came with LEe's Merge files i think?? it make all the strobes Blink at the same time! So if anyone know how to make the extra strobe i put on the tail cone blink with the 2 wing strobe's a the same time, i would greatly apprecite your Help!! As this will make it exactly like the real plane light's are! Thank's MIKE-:)

"make all the strobes Blink at the same time!"Wouldn't this be unrealistic, Heavy... or am I misunderstanding your request? The strobes should operate independently. They flash at 48 +/-3 flashes per minute. The +/-3 flash variation in the electronic circuitry means that they will soon go out of sequence even if they were all powered up at the same microsecond. They use independent power supplies.Cheers.Ian.

Yea, all strobes should be not be syn'c, which I don't think is modeled on POSKY.

hey guy's!-:) are you guy's sure?? I know that i seen them coming in at Dusk up close, and can tell you that i seen all 3 light's Blink in sync at the same time! They do not all blink Independantly! The 2 wing Strobes and the Tail Cone Strobes all blink together! This goes for the 767's,and 777's! And i think the Merge Files that Lee made, has this special Strobe effct made for posky's 767's that the strobes blink together! Just like the real life Planes Strobes do!? So anyone know how to do this effect for the 767-400 strobes? All i am asking is if anyone nows how to add it to Lee's already made Effect like this? As i just want to add a Strobe to the effect file for the 767-400's? Any help appreciated! MIKE-:)

>hey guy's!-:) are you guy's sure?? I know that i seen them >coming in at Dusk up close, and can tell you that i seen all >3 light's Blink in sync at the same time! They do not all >blink Independantly! The 2 wing Strobes and the Tail Cone >Strobes all blink together! This goes for the 767's,and >777's! I guess it all depends on the accuracy of the flash timing and trigger circuits. As I previously mentioned, the accuracy is only to within +/-3 flashes per minute... and although the white strobes are powered by the same 115Vac 400Hz elec bus, this voltage is fed to individual power supplies (which are needed to generate the 600volts for the flash head). These individual power supplies have their own timing circuits. I can't see how they could flash in unison unless all the timing circuits were in synchronicity with the airplane electrical generators.Anyway, I'll leave it to the plane spotters to decide ;-) My knowledge of strobe power supplies is rather limited.Cheers.Ian.

Hey IAN! thank's for usefull Info! I never knew a Plane strobe light's need 600Volts of power!! WOW!! But i have been going to my home airport of HNL to spot the Heavyjets coming in and landing, and i know that they all blink in Unison on the 767's and 777's! I'm not too sure about the 747 Wing Stobes, bit I'm pretty sure about the 767'a and 777's!? Oh well, no other great PIC modifier out there know about the FS2002 strobe effects to make this work on the 767-400?? MIKE-:)

BUMP!?? -:)

In my merges the strobes are synchronized to eachother and the beacons are synchronized to eachother, but the stobes and beacons flash independently of eachother, although their rate is similar. Is that realistic?I'm drawing a blank on who helped with the synchronized strobe effects, but the idea is to put more than one light in a .fx file. That way they will be synchronized. The trick is figuring out the (x,y,z) location of the individual lights. If I recall, the units in the .fx file might be meters, whereas in the aircraft.cfg they are feet. So, what you have to do is create a new strobe .fx file for the -400, and add entries for the tail strobe.Lee Hetherington (KBED)

Hi LEE! Ok, Well I have the X,Y,Z, location for the new Strobe light in the CFG where I want the Strobe to be!? Anyone know how to make these Points in Meter's as Lee Said?? I kin of know how too add a new Light's scetion in the Strobe FX file, as i did it for FFG DC-10's FX files of my own, but if anyone can Help me out With these Meter thing , I would really Apprecite the help! If it's any Help, here's the Light Position info for the New Tail Cone Strobe Light! Thank's Lee, MIKE-:)Light=== -99.40, 1.40, 8.3, fx_strobeh ,

Hmm anyone can help me Convert my Light's Positions i posted above in meters, so I can add this Strobe to the 767-400?? Apprecite it! MIKE-:)

Try. It is not very difficult. I learned this by trial and error.Converting between feet and meters is not very hard. Also be aware that the (x,y,z) in the .fx file is relative to the location you place the effect in your aircraft.cfg file.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
