Blurry EICAS Screens and MAP

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,I'm currious to know if anyone else has this issue or has a fix? I had to reinstall PIC recently and now my EICAS screen(seatbelt, warnings etc.)is blurry. I can make them out, but they are not as crisp as they used to be. In addition, on the map display, it is tough to see the waypoints. Everything else is crystal clear though! Is this normal?I'm using the same ATI Radeon 8500 I've had for a year now and I've got the display graphics to 1024/768 16 colors on the monitor and in FS2K2. Does anyone know or have any suggestions. Thanks very much!Brian

Hmm, you could be missing a font or have Cleartype on. The ND can't display data that clearly due to limitations, but here on 1600X1200 everything is clear, and with the exception of the ND at times, it is all easy to make out.

Greg,Thanks for your post. I'm not sure I can support 1600X1200. I will give it a try.I don't understand what "cleartype" or what font I could be missing?Brian

No problem. :-)Go to Control Panel then Display, Appearance and then effects. Should be some options there for font smoothing (Cleartype etc). BTW, don't go to 1600X1200 unless you have a 19" monitor, it'll fry anthing smaller most likely.

Greg,Thanks! I tried 1600/1200 and it looks terrible even with my 21 inch monitor. I'll try the other suggestion you had.Brian

It may be dependent on your graphics card as well, I have a GF4 Ti4200 btw.
