January 8, 200323 yr What operating system are you using?Check the "Wave" volume for your operating system. In most cases like this it is the culprit.
January 9, 200323 yr Are you using FSSound.dll ?This causes such behaviour some times... Don't know why.Try searching this forum. There were a few of us (including me) with this problem, but got it solved. I don't remember how (I think I just removed the FSSound.dll), but you will find the answer for sure.George DorkofikisAthens, Greece
January 9, 200323 yr hello, i searched the fssound.dll in my computer and nothing, 0 results, do i need that file? where?
January 10, 200323 yr FSSound.DLL is an FS2002 module and resides in the MODULES folder of FS2002. Since you didn't find it, you may not have it installed. It's required by some freeware panels, but may cause problems from time to time.Search this forum for GPWS and SOUND and you will find the solution. I don't remember what I did to fix it!George DorkofikisAthens, Greece
January 10, 200323 yr go to start and then control panel. under sound, go to speaker setup and change it to desktop stereo speakers or just two speakers and then try it.
January 10, 200323 yr I asked earlier what operating system you are using but you never responded. Assuming you are using Windows XP, here are the steps to solve your problem.1. Click on Start/Control Panel/Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices2. Click on Advanced Volume Controls3. Adjust the Wave Volume Slider and you should hear the GPWS callouts.Incidentally you could make future changes easier by putting the Speaker Volume icon in your Windows XP taskbar like it was in Windows 98. Simply click "Change the speaker settings" and select "Place Volume Icon in the taskbar" (see graphic below)
