January 10, 200323 yr In a similar vein to Navajo's message re the GPWS callouts, but worthy of thread in its own right I think, does anyone know how I can reduce the volume of the GPWS callouts? I've played with all the sliders in Options > Settings > Sound to no avail. It's as though the sound level is hard coded though I'm guessing there maybe an ini file somewhere where a value could be adjusted. Right now I have the overall sound levels right where I want them. The only workaround I can think of is to raise all the sliders in the options box then reduce overall volume on the speakers.Anyone know better?
January 10, 200323 yr this may or may not help. i have a sound blaster creative 5.1 gamer sound card. by using a two speaker system, i am able to output the gpws through its own channel therefore controlling it's own volume level. i do this by changing the speaker setup to 4 or 5.1 (however many speaker systems you may have) and connecting the gpws speaker to digital out and the others to normal audio out. some how my suround sound system or fs2002 itself isolates the gpws to the center speakers and all other sounds to the main speakers. depending on your sound card if you have an extra output, try changing your speaker set up and installing additional speakers or just a headset to try it, and see what happens.never hurts to try.cheers
