January 16, 200323 yr Hi,Will altering the following area of the aircraft cfg. affect the handling of the 767:[WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE]reference_datum_position=0.000000,0.000000,0.000000empty_weight_CG_position=0.000000,0.000000,0.000000max_number_of_stations= 50station_load.0= 0.000, 0.000, 0.000, 0.000empty_weight=245281.000000empty_weight_roll_MOI=2286000.000000empty_weight_pitch_MOI=7018000.000000empty_weight_yaw_MOI=8897000.000000empty_weight_coupled_MOI=1300.000000max_gross_weight=407018.995I plan on changing:reference_datum_positionempty_weight_CG_positionmax_number_of_stationsstation_loadempty_weightI have full access to the required Boeing Weight and Balance Docs for the 767-300.I am wanting to see what effect real world weight and balance data has on the simulator.Would we then be required to use actual trim settings, and make sure that our aircraft are balanced etc. Also, it would make the job of using differing payloads easier.Mark
January 16, 200323 yr Do not change the reference_datum_position unless you want to screw up everything. I'm pretty sure all the wing, stabilizer, control surface, etc. locations in the flight dynamics are relative to this position. Gear and lights are relative to this too if I recall. But, you shouldn't need to adjust this position to adjust weight and balance. You can certainly adjust the empty_weight_CG_position, add station loads, tweak the various empty_weight* parameters, etc. Dreamfleet's load manager adjusts a bunch of station loads, one for each cargo position and each seat.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
January 16, 200323 yr Lee,thanks. I knew one of the parameters needed to remain constant, but wasn't sure which one.I will need to look at the relationship between the cfg. reference position and the one in my boeing docs. The other thing is in reality, The empty weight C of G positon equates to an index value.i will need to see if the formula for working out index can be changed to work out the distance from the reference station. IE this would alter the trim, but the fuel loading also plays apart in this.now if ther was a laden_CG_position, I am pretty sure I could be using accurate trim values.Mark
