January 19, 200323 yr Anyone out there able to tell me if the Auto Switch on the Seat Belt sign in 767 PIC should actually operate? (ie sound the bell )Mine doesn't seem to operate and I wonder if it's just mine or is it just the program.Appreciate any insight.Regards,767
January 19, 200323 yr >Auto should only sound when you deploy flaps or gear.Sounds like you're talking about the No Smoking sign there... The Seatbelt sign comes on and off at 10,000 ft if I'm not mistaken (too lazy to look it up ;-)).It's usually left in the On position until the pilot (Captain, PF, PNF?) wants to turn off the sign - then it goes to Auto.Martin767 fetishistIt's a lot like life and that's what's appealing
January 20, 200323 yr I think we've discussed this previously, but... The ones on our 767's seem to sound whenever the knob is turned to a different selection. Our 747-400's however, the chime only appears to sound if there is a change of state (from off to on... or on to off).On our 767's, the logic for the seatbelt sign is:The switch selected to ON, orThe switch is selected to AUTO and either the flaps are not retracted or the gear is not up (or any gear door is not closed), orThe cabin altitude is greater than 10,000'In PIC, I can hear the chime when I put the switch in certain positions, but it doesn't appear to match the logic of our aircraft. A customer option perhaps?Cheers.Ian.
