Help needed with SIDS/STARS

Featured Replies

Hi all, today I was going to do a flight from LAX to DFW so I open up FS Build get the flight plan and start entering information into the FMC and I start entering the flight plan I went to put in the Departure route which FS Build gave me LAXX4 but I noticed that it wasn't in the list of Departure routes. I got my SIDS/STARS from www.navdata.at and I was wondering if there are any other places to go to download them. Thanks for the help.

The LAXX4 is a vectored departure so having it in your FMC will not help you much.Just put in the waypoint of the Transition you will be flying - and when finally cleared to that waypoint/navaid you can use replot your magenta line and engage LNAV.There is only one thing you need to do yourself while flying it:If you takeoff runway 24 R/L - Fly runway heading - expect vectors on course. If you takeoff runway 25 L/R - Fly runway heading, Crossing the SMO160 turn right heading 220, expect vectors on course. For the fourth version of this departure they added some altitude restrictions for the SMO160 - but the chart and the description conflict as far as I can tell (one says at or below 3000, the chart shows at or above 3000) so you should probably ask about that one. They also changed the "method" for getting to DAG. You now get Vectors to SLI then go direct SEBBY DAG. Since you are in a 767 - I would imagine you could get direct DAG at any time based on traffic. So again - no point in having this one in the FMC.Hope that helps,Ian Elchitz CYWGp.s. - Very interesting thing to notice is that the FAA (or whoever) in all of their wisdom appears to have done away with the categorization at the top of their DP's that used to say "VECTOR" or "PILOT NAV". Interesting....

>If you takeoff runway 25 L/R - Fly runway heading, Crossing >the SMO160 turn right heading 220, expect vectors on course. hey i think it should be turn left heading 220 right? Sometimes i confuse my right and left hands too :)>p.s. - Very interesting thing to notice is that the FAA (or >whoever) in all of their wisdom appears to have done away >with the categorization at the top of their DP's that used >to say "VECTOR" or "PILOT NAV". Interesting.... lol, many things in this world don't follow logic i guess

Sometimes i confuse my right and left hands too hmm maybe your not such an idiot after all :-lol .I suppose a right turn to 220 on the LAXX4 would produce some interesting results!! :-eekThanks for the correction - let's trade names.Ian Elchitz CYWG
