February 5, 200323 yr Thanks to all who helped me with getting the FMC in 767 PIC to work using FSBUILD. Now I apparently have another problem. Now that I can successfully transfer the information to the FMC from the flightplan, I am not sure how to use the flightplan in the FMC with FS2002. FS2002 seems to freeze up when after I load the flightplan into the FMC. Is there a tutorial anywhere that I can download and/or read? What I basically want to do is create a flightplan, put it into the FMC, and use the autopilot on 767 PIC to fly the plane once at cruising altitude. Thanks again for any help.
February 5, 200323 yr Ernie Alston, the creator of FSBuild, has extensive tutorials, including a short one on using FSBuild with FAA Preferred Routes written by me, on his website at http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/a...er1/fsbuild.htmAnyway, FSBuild could be a bit intimidating at first so here's a short pictorial. You need to set up the options first.Click on the "FSBuild Options" button and another screen will appear. There you need to insert the paths to the other programs you intend to use with FSBuild.1. If you use Squawkbox, you insert the path here.2. Insert the path for Flight Simulator here. I'm sure my installation is different from yours so my path is different.3. If you're using FS2002 you need to check this box.4. Click this button to save your setup and to return to the main screen.5. Insert the origination and destination airports in these two boxes6. Press to generate flight plan. If there's a previously stored route, it will appear. You can now do 7 and 8 interchangeably; I personally prefer to do step 8 before step 7. That way I can press the NAVLOG button and review all the waypoints before generating the various flightplan formats in step 8. FSBuild does make errors occasionally so you need to visually inspect the plan to see if it makes logical sense. If you also want to use procedures such as STARS and SIDs, select them now and they will appear in the route window.8. Having verified that the plan is correct; select the checkboxes for the various programs you want to export flightplans to; I personally always export to 767 PIC, FS2002, Squawkbox and FS Navigator. Now press "Build Flightplans" button again and the flightplans will be exported correctly.I can't explain why FS2002 would freeze up after open the flightplan in the FMC; assuming you're doing the steps correctly.
