Small Tutorial in getting the FMC to display runway specific SIDS.Good for airports such as Heathrow that have numerous SIDS and Runways. Filters out all the others and only displays the SIDs for that Runway. You may need Charts to do this!Step1. Identify the SID you want to make runway specific. For EGPF my local airport, there are two NGY SIDS. One for runway 23 and the other for runway 05.I want the NGY1J to show for runway 05 and the NGY1H to show for runway 23.Let's use Runway 05.(NGY1J)Write down the name of the SID as displayed in the FMC. You will need this later. Step2. Start Programming a Route.Dep EGPF - Arr EGPFStep3. Now to make the SID runway specific.Go to the DEP/ARR page.In the EGPF ARR select RWY 05.This transfers a waypoint into the LEGS page. Execute the Route, to make it active.Step4. Saving the Procedure.Go to the Menupress the LSK next to the Save to Disk.go to page 2 - Save Runway/SID legs.Select this option.Type NGY1J.05 in the FMC.USE Left LSK5 to enter this into the string being displayed next to LSK5.Then next to Left LSK6 there should appear Save To Disk.Press Left LSK6.Finished.Once you have done a few different procedures for different runways test them out.I have found that it works perfectly every time. This takes literally one minute to do in the FMC.Mark

Mike, not sure about that one yet. Most UK airports that use STARS do not have Runway Specific Ones. They all normally end at a waypoint followed by vectors to the Runway.I do have some Trial RNAV FMS STAR Transitions for EGPF. These are from the End Waypoint on the Star, to a fixed point where you are established on the ILS. The only way I could make these was to make them APPROACH Transitions. If you were to make them STAR Transitions then they would display in front of the STAR waypoints.Mark

Enough of this, I am out of here for a quick bite to eat then home to my 'personal' 767PIC (thanks Steve) which is parked at the gate in LAX. It's Friday night and that means things will be hopping around New York and Boston later on so I need to get the 5 hour flight underway. I may need a rare activation of 4X across the plains states.Have a great weekend everyone!

Mike,I think the west was the place to be. 340AM central and I just got off of working Sierra approach - we had 12 positions open between ZLA and Oakland, and even now there are still 15 aircraft buzzing around. Those east coase characters go to bed too damned early IE.
