.....finally wow ! PIC as it was meant to be......

Featured Replies

..Well I finally upgraded my motherboard and cpu, 2.4 CPU and 533 FSB mobo, with DDR 333 mhz, I know need to get a better sound card and bideo card though.......The PIC expierence is sooo much better...thank you Intel !

The question is what kind of resolution and which settings your sliders have?Matthias

...every thing is near max, I'll screen shot when I get home...it's not full slider's, yet, as I have to pull the PCI IDE Controller card, and use the IDE channel 1 master, slave the two drives...the new mobo suppports ATA 100/133 already so no need for the controller card...that should help a bit more...then adding a new video card will also help, although not MUCH...FS2K2 is much more about the CPU than anything else...

Except that video card counts muchly when AA and AF are cranked up. What video card do you have, and what are your AA / AF settings?

.....what the heck does anistropic filtering do anyway ? anti-aliasing I know helps clean up the edges of images and makes it cleaner looking, but AF ?....for a graphics card, I am not sure what to get, I guess the Radeon product 9700 Pro or some new inVidia card....any ideas

The ATI Radeon surely handle the anti-aliasing far more better than nvidia. I have tried so many cards in different versions, so my conclusion is that for FlightSimming the ATI is better, except for radeon 7500 and 8000. But from 9000 and newer the ATI can handle the AA far more better. Nvidia is indeed a "fast" videocard but ATI stands for quality, even that it is not as fast as Nvidia.sk985

ATI has spanked Nvidia with their R9700Pro. Get that one, or if you can wait, the R9800Pro in about a month. Or you could get the 9700Pro once the 9800Pro is out, for a lot less money than it is now.Cheers
