767 VNAV accuracy

Featured Replies

Im having a problem with the 767 and crusing flight levels. The weights are all within limits, around 11 tons of fuel and an Optimum altitude of FL389. I have enterd FL390 for the crz but the aircraft Oscillates (SP?) between 38,920 and 38,940. It never actually reaches FL390.Anyone know why this is and any way to solve this error? Thanks for your help.

Have seen similar behaviour myself. It just happens every know and then that the aircraft can't reach selected crz altitude. It behaves as it was too heavy. For me it has been enough too restart FS and then go for it again. No good explanation I'm afraid.Regards

Are you flying with real weather of some type? You might want to make sure that FSUIPC is set to really smooth out barometric changes. If you are flying over closely spaced METARs and they all have different barometric pressures, this can cause altitude variation. You might want to do something similar to wind changes.I think I have mine set to 10s/mb or something like that.Lee Hetherington (KBED)http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

Im flying with FS_meteo, yes. Thanks for your help, Lee. I will give it a go!

I've had the same issue. Aircraft bobs in between 60-80 feet below selected altitude in VNAV CRZ. Say I'm cruising at FL390 and this happens, if I put in FL391 as the cruise alt the plane will climb to 391 and hold it, no problem. Most of the time the plane handles barometric pressure changes with no trouble. I've also noticed that this problem tends to occur when you change cruise altitudes in flight, dunno if that could be a factor.Ryan

Yes i was orginally at 370 then reselected the CRZ to 390.
