Take Off

Featured Replies

OK, on take off my plane will rotate by its self at like 130, even with full fuel. And flaps are only at 5. This happens either if I use N1 or just push my throttles forward. This seems to have something to do with the VS when I can activate the AP the VS will show something like 3000 to 6000, but I dont know how to set the VS to 0 while during start up checks.Am I doing something wrong? Or is it the program? Any ideas or suggestions?Brian

Hi Brian, sound like you havr the plane trimmed to much nose-up. It happened to me a couple of times when I didn't check my trim setting before take/off. Open the pedestal panel and set your trim to 4 or 5 units for take/off. That does it for me.Hope this helps.Regards,Bjorn

Brian,1Do you use a PIC/Posky merge? When I did that the wrong way, I had the same problem. Do a search for the PIC/Posky merge in this forum.2Indeed, check your trim settings. On this page ( http://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/767.html ) you can find a trim sheet if you're into this kind of stuff.3V/S will show your actual climbrate (or rate of descend if you're going the other way) when you engage this mode, so this has nothing to do with your problem.4You could try this: make sure you have the FMC properly programmed, arm A/T and VNAV (and if you want LNAV as well) during preflight. Use THR during take-off and @ 400 feet engage the autopilot. This will put you in VNAV mode and could perhaps arrest the excessive rate of climb. But: check 1 and 2 first.Kind regards,Stephan Haashttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...or=SVA1&a=a.jpg

Guys, thanks so much, it was my trim. Now I gotta learn to take off and land again lol. It feels different. :)Brian
