767 Dispatcher

Featured Replies

Need help with 767 Dispatcher. I just downloaded the program and am wondering when to use it. Do I use it after I've done a flight plan in FS Navigator and after imported to the FMC and FS 2002 for Radar Contact, V-3? It seems to me I would try to get current runway info from departing and arrival runways first. Just a little confused on when to use the program. Thankyou for any help.

This utility is for preflight preperations. You will need to know the runway in use, as real worl dispatchers do. In the real world, you will get the weight balance sheet before the flight, and get a final update before leaving the gate. To use this utility best, you will need to know the departure, arrival and alternate(s) airports, runway in use for departure and estimated runway for arrival. It would be best if you have the flight plan ready in 767PIC format (.rte), so you can import the flightplan to the dispatcher utility. That would be all - in short, do it like real life: make the flightplan, open the dispatcher and fill in the airports. you will see the weather info - so it will help you choose runway in use. If you are flying online, you can check with the controller.finish filling in the info, print the sheets and off you go!Enjoy and happy landings!Ilan Jonas

Thankyou. Thats really how I did it, but wasn't sure. Thanks again.

Well, my method would be to check the weather first because the active runway is likely to be determined by wind speed and direction.I generally use the weather function in ServInfo to get an idea of the weather, then I use JeppView to get the correct departure and arrival procedures for my airports. After than I simply connect my departure and arrivals by looking up my route in the FAA Preferred Route database if I'm flying in the US; or I use FS Navigator to plot the waypoints when I'm flying outside of the US.Now when I get all this information, I input all the Departure, arrival, approach procedures and waypoints into FSBuild to create and export my flightplans in multiple formats; FS2002, FSNAV, 767 PIC, and Squawkbox. After that I use 767 Dispatcher since I now know what the weather is like, and the appropriate procedures to use for the active runways. It sounds complicated but it really is not and I get accurate flight plans this way.

Thanks, I'll try that.
