Can somebody tell me how much the trim changes in the real aircraft when pressing the pitch switch on the control wheel?When I trim the PIC767 I have to hit num7 or num1 often to get a noticiable change. I suppose the increments are to small. Is there any way to modify them?

i once saw a video of a 737NG being flown manually, then switching to autopilot... if you put rasorblade on the trimweels you can cut a gandaham on it... they spin around SOOOOOOOOOOOOO fast!!!don't know about the 767 though ... i'll leave that up to the pro's

But there are no trimweels in the 767 :) :)

Good point :( I usually trim to about 2-4units for takeoff this gives me a nice smooth rotation. I assume here (perhaps rather foolishly) that a similar value would be used in the real world! Depends on a whole variety of factors though

I might not have been clear enough with my question. I am aware of the usual trim settings for take off and how to trim the aircraft performing a hand-flown approach. I rather think about how much the trim actually changes when you press the trim switch in the real aircraft e.g. : will one "click" give an increased trim from +4,0 to +4,1 or from +4,0 to +4,5 ?Hope that clarifies my question

I see know! I have no idea sorry! Would imagine it to be about 0.1 units though! It would also depend if u use the elec trim on the yoke or the hand move trim on the pedstal i would assume

The answer is it doesn't change it very much.... I'd probably say its about 1 unit per second of holding the trim switch down. One press on the trim switch might equate to 1/20th of a unit, something like that. One press makes very little difference, you normally have to hold it down for a few fractions of a second to get any result.

Hi there..i hope this helps you out. I fly dc-10s and the trim changes about 1 degree every 2.1 seconds. I noticed this oneday while checking trim during my preflight. In the initial part of the trim check, you hold down the trim switches until the trim horn sounds. It sounds at 1 degree of constant trim change. It takes around 2 seconds after holding down the switches to get 1 degree. Atleast in this aircraft the trim is rarely held constantly. We trim using clicks.While hand flying the jet, About 2 to 3 clicks is all that is needed to reach a reasonable trim change. While in level flight a couple clicks of nose up will make the plane enter a light climb. The times you will see large trim changes are transitioning from level flight to climbs or descents and large airspeed changes. Even then its done in clicks. Trim changes are so minor that the trim warning horn sounds after a degree of change, to warn of a possible run away trim condition. In fs2002 i have my trim repeat set to half rate and 2 to 3 clicks give me a reasonable change......rich

Go to the FS Controls settings.Set 2 of your joystick buttons, 1 for trim up the other for trim down.You can then vary the repeat rate from full, to 1/2 to nearly nil.
