TCAS problem?

Featured Replies

HiSee screenshot. I *think* I am doing something wrong here to end up with another aircraft sort of ghosting my position. It is there continuously. My setup:Using two PC's - client runs SB, WideFS & RW; main PC runs FS and Aibridge.Am I doing somewthing wrong here?

LeeHi, no it stays with me from the moment PIC gets airborne. Also, was 'flying' along tonight, had an aircraft pass me at my level, opposite direction and about 3-4 miles to my right (according to SB TCAS) and it never showed up on your gauge. Maybe this is related?Cheers

Hi Tom,I had a similar problem. It's solved by running AIBRIDGE on the same computer as Squawkbox and letting AIBRIDGE connect to the multiplayer session before Squawkbox.Hope this helps.Patrick (EBBE)

The problem with the other close traffic not showing up also sounds like it might be due to SB. The way AIBridge works is it gets TCAS data out of the multiplayer session (MP) and sends it to FSUIPC. As you may be aware, there is a limit to 15 aircraft in an FS2002 MP session. So, if those 15 slots get filled up, you won't see the traffic. I believe one slot is used by yourself, one by SB, and probably one by AIBridge.Did you see the traffic visually? If so, then that argument doesn't apply in this case. I suppose I could try to detect "self" being displayed on the TCAS.SB can know about a lot more aircraft than it installs in the MP session. Thus, its TCAS can show a lot more. I have heard that SB3 will be capable of installing TCAS data directly into FSUIPC, so hopefully this issue will go away.Lee Hetherington (KBED)http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

Ah thanks Patrick! Will give it a go :-wave
