May 25, 200323 yr Last night I set up a flight from KDTW to KEWR on Vatsim with a Delta 767-200 with PIC and it was a blast.I am just getting back into 767PIC and have been reading the manuals again.I was so impressed with the way the ac handled and flew the route, but the best was at the arrival to EWR.I was using FSMetro coming in and the Vatsim controller in NY Center was great even with all his traffic he had going on.I went into the soup at 7000 and was starting to sweat about 3000 when I set up for a cat 3 landing on 4R,I came in on a 30 degree intercept for 4R and the 767 picked it up great and I was at 1000 feet and really was sweating flying blind and I finally broke out at 50 ft on centerline and landed fine. Its really nervewracking hearing the altitudes being called out and you see nothing out the windows.I have fallen in love with this great airplane.I have 1 question, can you set up the vnav page for a crossing restriction?
May 25, 200323 yr HOW TO - Crossing Restrictions and VNAV 1. Go to the LEGS Page.2. Find the Waypoint that you want the crossing restriction to take place by.3. Enter the Restriction into the FMC Scrathpad Area eg 250/15000B this would be speed 250 knots / below 15000ft.4. Select the Right Hand Side LSK next to the waypoint you want the crossing restriction at.5. As long as VNAV is engaged the Autopilot will fly the Vertical Profile for the crossing restriction. note : - to ensure strict adherence to the crossing restriction it is sometimes better to create an extra waypoint a few miles before the crossing restriction with the same profile as the restriction. This way you will be at the target altitude by the crossing restriction.
