June 3, 200323 yr Hi everyone!I'm new here as this is my first post. Had a terrible time logging on and got ZERO help from the avsim forum moderator. I finally had to creat a completely new e-mail address and account. And now, the only way I can loggon now is to confiscate my wife's laptop! Anyway, I've been a HUGE 767 PIC fan for a long time.Unfortunately, in the past I never really had a computer that could do FS and 767PIC justice. (My last computer was a P-200MMX!) Well, I had to upgrade and now have a P4-1.7 with a GeForce2 card.Several months ago I was blowing some dust off my old disks and re-installed FS2002 pro. It worked great! OK, so I had to try 767PIC. Sure enough, after installing the update patches it worked great too! Finally. . .SMOOTH frame rates!Well, I spent many hours searching the net for 767PIC files. Panel upgrades, airplane skins, whatever. Fortunately, lurking on this forum pointed me to the POSKY collection. I used the merge file and now have a TWA 767 to use. I also played around a bit and merged a TWA 757! Although, I must say that getting the 767PIC sounds to work with the 757 was a challenge! BTW, are there any sound upgrades for 767PIC?I tried several flights around KLAX with 767PIC along with some generics from FS2002. Something just wasn't right. So, I took the PLUNGE! I ordered the CH products latest Flight Yoke. What a difference!!! Finally, my sims started to kinda "feel," real. . .if there is such a thing!? So far, the ONLY thing I don't like about the flight yoke is it only has one throttle! Is anyone else out there using this setup? Also, I ordered a 38mm mesh scenery expansion for the southern California area. Has anyone else tried this mesh stuff? I tried to download a demo KTPA upgrade and my rigs' frame rates almost came to a complete halt! I quickly reset the airport back to default and am now trying some upgrades that only add taxi signs. Now, I'm having a blast and am still figuring out how to run FS and 767PIC efficiently so I can fly some airline type flights. The other day I found an incredible 727 panel and hooked it together with the only TWA 727 new paintjob that I could find. (In case you haven't noticed my preference is for TWA airplanes. . .especially the old red and white stripes.) Anyway, after installing the 727, my PIC no longer had the FSpro panel buttons and was using the FSpro default jet sounds. I haven't had a chance to fix this yet but has anyone else encountered that?Anyway, is everyone else still having as much fun as I am with this great sim? Does anyone know if 767PIC will be compatible with the new FS? Is everyone planning to upgrade? Anyone think A320 will be the demise for 767? Have any of you ever participated in a FS fly-in?As a side note, there is a computer show coming up this weekend. What do you guys recommend for upgrades? I was thinking video might help somewhat and have my eye on some of the recent ATI cards. 9600, 9700, 9800? Maybe a CPU upgrade might be better? Soundcard? Would the Audigy 2 be any better than SBLive 5.1?Well, this message is starting to get kinda long so I'll stop here. I'm just happy to finally be able to participate in this forum with guys that are really knowlegable about this stuff. Any help will be sincerely appreciated! I'm looking forward to many more flight with 767PIC!
June 24, 200322 yr I do not know what rock I was buried under while this post was on the first page of the forum. All I can say is sorry that it went unreplied. There are many of the "regulars" that try and catch posts by new users and at least say hello and welcome. By now you may have many of the files/tweaks you were looking for but to make sure, how about emailing me the ones you have and those you are still looking for. I will be happy to help get you up to speed. And, welcome to a the forum sir.Mike [email protected]
