767 External Lighting

Featured Replies

Hi,Can anyone say if there is a problem with the light switches for external lighting(on the visible overhead panel) on the default 767 work, please?I assumed that each of the 4 switches would work independently of one another, but not so! The only switch that is functional is the one below the White Collision Light, which actually turns on the red beacons and the white wingtip and tail lights(are these position or collision lights?). The other 3 switches are non-functional, even though they can be turned on and off(I did try various combinations of switches, but no luck there, either). The landing lights work fine, by the way! Thanks,Frank

Hey Mike,it would be good if Wade could Anchor some posts at the top of the forum, basic stuff like using the merge, installing the TCAS etc.

Thanks, Mike.I do know about the PIC/POSKY merge, but am new to the 767, and am taking it slowly, so experiencing some of the problems I'm sure you all know about from long time back. I do actually search the forum frequently, and have garnered much useful information from the archives. In this case, I just wanted to confirm that there was a problem with the external lighting on the default plane. As we're on the topic, perhaps you could clear up my confusion about the names of the various lighting systems on the aircraft, please?Where, for example, are the position lights? Are they the red and green wingtip light(which I call navigation lights)? And anti-collision lights - do these include the strobes on the wingtips, and the red flashing beacons on the top and underside of the aircraft? Many thanks for your response to my original question. I look forward to further enlightenment :-)Frank

"Where, for example, are the position lights? Are they the red and green wingtip light(which I call navigation lights)?"Yes, that is correct"And anti-collision lights - do these include the strobes on the wingtips, and the red flashing beacons on the top and underside of the aircraft?"The anti-collision lights are the (red) flashing beaconsThe strobes are on the wing tips (white)Check this post and the reply by Martin, Ian, and HPSOV, for this and more concerning lights on the B767:http://forums.avsim.com/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=search
