July 23, 200322 yr Actually happened around two years ago and I have just now got around to going through the pictures again. I was a very lucky man and got the chance to spend 1.5 hours in Continental's 757-200 sim for free :-lol. Amazing experience and I must say PIC made all the difference in the world in regard to knowing my way around the flight deck. Check out the pic!RegardsPutput28 :-wavehttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/25211.jpg
July 24, 200322 yr I'd kill to get in a full motion simulator...lolWell, maybe not kill, but u get the idea.
July 24, 200322 yr oh ya...forgot to ask you...I assume your not a real life pilot. In any case, with your PIC experience how did u do in the simulator?
July 24, 200322 yr "I was a very lucky man and got the chance to spend 1.5 hours in Continental's 757-200 sim for free"Hey, Putput... Can you prove it's a simulator.... It looks like real airplane to me :-)Interesting to note how long Widetrack (A4) printers have been in service (aft pedestal (rhs)).... Seems like only yesterday I was trying to figure out how to feed the d@rned things :(Cheers.Ian.
July 24, 200322 yr Hookandbook, well I am a real world pilot...almost a private one. I will say that MSFS did help me on both the simulator and in my PPL training. However, it is impossible to obtain the handling and feeling of a real plane through MSFS as you could most likely figure out. As far as finding my way through the flight deck and going through t/o and landing procedures, PIC did help a ton. Even though this is a 757-200, PIC is almost identical to it.Ian, lol it does look real. I tried to be as carful as possible flying a 40 million dollar machine :-lol Here is the funny thing, the graphics in that baby are 10 million dollars and MSFS 2002 is almost as good!!! I thought that to be very ironic. BTW look at the cockpit windows, its not night time ;-) Regards,Putput28 :-wave
July 24, 200322 yr Hi guys,The only place I know of now that will allow the general public to fly a LEVEL D sim is through a company based in Vancouver CA. called General Flight Studies. They have a LEVEL D 763ER that was a lot of fun with a nice visual system. They also have an older A320 LEVEL C sim that was fun too but the visual system is kinda weird. You can check them out at http://www.eclipsemultimedia.net/Webwork/AirSim/about.html.It's rather expensive but if you have the $$$ and want the thrill of your sim-life go for it, I promise you won't be dissapointed. Tell him Paul and Josh from Chicago sent ya :)-pk
