July 29, 200322 yr Hi all,Long time, no post.I have a question about the braking effects on the 767PIC.The question was raised in our VA forum, but I have searched this forum, and can't find the thread. That is enough background, on with the topicOne of pilots has commented that the manual brakes on the 767 seem to be to sensitive, and that a press of the (.) button applies a lot of brake action, with the result that the a/c bounces to a stop. From what I remember reading here, I have replied that with a keyboard press, or a key press mapped through a joystick, full brakes will be applied, but if the brakes are mapped through a rudder system with toe brakes the braking action can be more smoothly applied. However I also remember that the autobrake selection has a scalar built into it so that the braking action mirrors real life. Can one of the experts out there please confirm this, or put me right on the subject.Cheers,Chris WillisBAW976www.bavirtual.co.ukwww.speedbirdonline.co.ukbtw to Mr. Bevington, just read the post about the tutorial, sorry must have missed it in March, did you read it? If so was it sufficent.
July 30, 200322 yr Chris,I try to not answer questions asked of the "experts" because I am not one. But since one of the "experts" have not answered yet, I would offer that you have pretty much answered your own question. My only additional thought is that during the 2 years before having rudder pedals I never once had the PIC bounce to a stop because of over effective brakes.Regarding the tutorial you wrote, GREAT JOB on that. http://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/Downloads/767/tutorial.zipThe tutorial is well done and should be very helpful. I only had a couple quick thoughts for improvement: - Use "Next Page" instead of "Page Forward" - Add opening paragraph about the importance of the manuals with a link to each of them: - * ftp://ftp.wilcopub.com/767_Pilot_in_Comma...and_Systems.pdf - * ftp://ftp.wilcopub.com/767_FMC.pdf - * http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/efpanels/u...PIC11Update.pdf VERY IMPORTANT
