Question for Lee Hetherington

Featured Replies

Hi Lee,I was just curious to know if you still plan on updating your IVSI/TCAS gauge with aural and vsi commands during a RA threat?I know Wade has made it clear that a new panel version will be made for FS9, but that is probably some time away yet and no mention of the addition of TCAS was made for that new project unless it's part of the "Other things" area he mentioned.I fly the current PIC panel along with my 732 panel exclusively and would really like to see you finish your gauge at some point in time, even with the aformentioned announcment as I and I'm sure many others have no immediate plans to upgrade to FS9 until Wade and crew release their newest 767 panel.Kindest Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns/AFG GroupPanel/FDE Designer

Hi Van,I wish I could say I've been busy working on the new TCAS, but it has been on hold for the last month or two. Unfortunately, that's kind of how it goes with me. I really get into it for a while, make some good progress, and then something else (real life) bumps it down the priority list. Since it is just a labor of love, I only work on it when I really want to.With 767 V2 on the horizon, if anything this might reduce my motivation since it would likely have its own TCAS. I've got some interesting ideas on how to make TCAS logic more "plug and play" so that someone (e.g., me) could substitute more sophisticated logic at a later date into panels with TCAS integrated into the EADI and EHSI, but we'll see if I can interest panel designers.Hopefully my interest in the project will get another shot of adrenaline and I'll finish it off. I do have a lot finished.Lee Hetherington (KBED)

Thanks for the reply Lee and I totally understand how real world activities come first. I've been in the same boat many of times.I really appreciate you making PIC that much better with your IVSI/TCAS gauge.Kindest Regards,Van Latendresse
