Autoland

Featured Replies

I find that I have only one autopilot only engaged and then select APP. The AFDS then engages full autoland (all three autopilots become active) once I pass thru 1500' on the approach. According to the manual, the other 2 autopilots will engage when I activate them not automatically...which is what I would prefer. At present, I have to disengage the autopilot and then re-emgage a single autopilot if I want the LOC/GS function but do NOT want autoland active. Is anyone else experiencing this...or am I misinterpreting how this system functions?

"According to the manual, the other 2 autopilots will engage when I activate them not automatically...which is what I would prefer."This is an option in the real world, "AvA757Pilot"*, and PIC can be adjusted accordingly using the PIC tab on the top of your FS202 Window. Simply select PIC, Settings, Realism and Carrier Options, then untick "AFDS Automatic MultiChannel".Hope this helps.Cheers.Ian.*Hmmm... now I know why PMDG insist on first names.... It's a lot nicer talking to people with names, not alphanumeric sequences ;-)

Ian's answer is spot on (as always), but I'll just pose the question of why you only want a single autopilot engaged? Is there a reason you dont want autoland active? If you're going to disconnect prior to landing it shouldn't matter how many autopilots you have engaged. Just a thought :-)
