October 29, 200322 yr Is it me or when 'flying' through turbulence with VNAV engaged, the speed always decays away, this is especially apparant when one overrides VNAV speed. VNAV 'forgets' to maintain speed and pitches the aircraft up, and without pilot intervention, I'm pretty sure it would end up stalling. When flying in smooth air this is never an issue - PIC performs flawlessly.Any thoughts welcomed - am I the only one with this problem?
October 29, 200322 yr me thinks the problem with FS turbulence is that it constantly and abruptly changes wind speed and direction to obtain turbulence FX, but as you may know if flying at a certain 'mach' number when wind make a sudden change, the mach number you're flying at changes ...therefore you'll see the IAS change aswell... your reported decayi've had some problems with other aircraft where the wind shifts were just to heavy for the a/t to cope...FS bug imho(can be resolved with FSUIPC settings)Cheers
October 29, 200322 yr Set Turbulence scalar to 0.20 in the FS cfg.MS have overcooked the turbulence modelling.
October 30, 200322 yr Is turbulence simulated properly in 2k4? i.e. no more sharp horizontal wind changes to make it seem turbulent instead of simulating up and downdrafts?
