November 10, 200322 yr Hello to all, 2 things. I know the fire test button is pushed during the checks on the first flight of the day. Does the pilot press the wheel well fire and sys fail switches on the pedestal also? I know they are not functional in PIC but what do these do when pressed anyway? My other question is why is there an option to press the GPWS on the PIC panel when its not even pressed in the real world anyway? November 13, 200322 yr Both Fire test switches are pushed in pre-flight, as they test separate systems. SYS FAIL is never pushed by the pilots. There are many switches on the AUX panel that are maintenance only (hence being placed on the AUX panel...). If pressed the GPWS test switch runs through all the GPWS aural warnings, always used to be one to do when you had flight deck visitors (on the ground only of course).
