Rudder authority( modifying .cfg file)

Featured Replies

Hi,I wish I was as computer literate as you guys!! I am having trouble following the thread ref the above? Can someone give a noddys guide on how to set this up? Do I cut and paste the from the thread... where do I place the programme lines in the 767.cfg files? One day I hope I can help??RegardsSimmslot

{flight_tuning}// You can adjust these scalars to affect the flight model. I have// heard folks recommend 8.0 for rudder_effectiveness to make the// rudder functional while the yaw dampers are on.cruise_lift_scalar=1.0parasite_drag_scalar=1.0induced_drag_scalar=1.0elevator_effectiveness=1.0aileron_effectiveness=1.0rudder_effectiveness=24.0pitch_stability=1.0roll_stability=1.0yaw_stability=1.0elevator_trim_effectiveness=1.0aileron_trim_effectiveness=1.0rudder_trim_effectiveness=1.0Find the section above in the aircraft.cfg file.Copy the above, replacing the { brackets with the [ shaped ones.Paste this over the existing section in the aircraft.cfg file. You may want to change the rudder effectiveness setting - I have mine set at this, so that I can get rudder authority with Yaw Dampers on.

Thanks Mark!!Where do I find the flight tuning programme lines in the .cfg file for the 767PIC?. The nearest file I can find is "Airplane geometry"?? RegardsSimmslot

If you are using the original Wilco PIC package, then the flight tuning section does not exist in the aircraft cfg. Most PIC users use either the Posky 763 or ifdg 763 visual model as it is much easier on frame rates and has many more features then the PIC visual model (which is quite dated and non gmax). There are merges available for both of the aformentioned visual models, the ifdg 763 created by myself and the Posky 763 by Lee Hetherington and it is in the aircraft cfg's for these merges that the flight tuning sections exist.Visit the link below and you will find both merges as well as other goodies under the download section.http://www.pic767flyingclub.com/Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns/AFG GroupPanel/FDE Designer

Hi,Thanks Van that explains it! Looking for the goodies then!!RegardsSimmslot

Hi guys,I have done the merges..they are brilliant!! I have modified the .cfg file but I still can't fly the aircraft on a single engine.I still don't appear to have rudder authority and the speed disappears even with max continuos power on the live engine.Any ideas please??
