Climb

Featured Replies

HiAfter I takeoff and I'm all cleaned up, at around 10,000 to 15,000 ft, I can't keep my climb angle under control. It keeps going up and up. I have full elevator down trim and full elevator down. When I engage the autopilot, It is fine and the nose goes down. What can I do to stop this?

It has been many moons since I have flown the PIC 767 due to the non-support in FS2004, but I will try to help you from memory. (I sure hope the new version 2 of PIC767 for FS2004 comes out soon)First it sounds as if your problem only starts at the higher altitudes. Is that correct and it only occurs with PIC 767 aircraft? (No other FS2002 aircraft)You did not mention your fuel load as the center of gravity (c/g) or balance could cause pitch problems. Also have you calibrated your joystick or yoke? Are you flying one of the default PIC767 aircraft or an add-on type? There could be some performance differences there that could cause your problem. Finally, it does sound like maybe part of the autopilot (alt hold or pitch) is trying to engage. That might be causing the trim and elevator to drive full down and cause your climb. I seem to remember that when we would select the pitch steering bars on the ADI, part of the autopilot would come on. (FS2002 program) This seemed to be a Microsoft programing problem and not a PIC 767 problem.I hope that I might have given you some things to look at to possibly fix your problem.Terry
