April 14, 200422 yr Does it only happen with FSBuild flight plans? Have you tried manually entering them (using the FSBuild Navlog as a reference)?Geoff
April 14, 200422 yr Rob,I have used FSBuild myself and did not experience these problems. Could you mail me privately one of your flightplans so that I can have a look at it?Kind regards,Stephan Haaswww.lemont.nl/b767flightdeckhttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/images/sas544.jpg
April 14, 200422 yr Hi Stephan,Thanks for the quick reply. It's a short flight from Amsterdam to Stansted
April 14, 200422 yr Hi Geoff, Thanks for your quick reply. I always used FSBuild for my flightplans and never had any problems till now. But I will try to do it manuallysee what happens. If it works I only have to find out why I can't use FSBuild anymore.
April 15, 200422 yr Rob,I'll have a go at it tonight. I copied/pasted this file into wordpad and saved it in the PIC767 format. Apparently your upload of the original file (with the rte extension) did not succeed.Kind regards,Stephan Haaswww.lemont.nl/b767flightdeckhttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/images/sas544.jpg
April 15, 200422 yr After a quick glance at this route:;Flight Plan Generated by Fsbuild 1.3 EHAM-EGSSH,EHAM,EGSS, ,W,EH001,,0,52.275398,4.700900,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,EH051,VALKO24,30,52.243999,4.650900,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,EH009,VALKO24,30,52.223400,4.554300,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,VALKO,,0,52.223400,4.554300,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,LOGAN,,0,51.741798,1.607000,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,CLN,,0,51.848400,1.147300,114.550000,0.000000,0,0,0,0End of FlightPlanUnless I have completely forgot what they look like - I'd have to conclude that your aircraft is climbing on your VNAV profile directly to your cruise altitude (or MCP Altitude) because:There are NO altitude constraints in the flight plan. That is probably your issue. For example - if you wanted to cross VALKO at 13000 the line should be something likeW,VALKO,,0,52.223400,4.554300,0.000000,0.000000,0,13000,0,Please supply a screenshot of the LEGS page so we can confirm.Ian.
April 16, 200422 yr HI Ian,I use FSBuild only for the route. I enter altitudes and speeds inthe FMC of PIC. Sometimes I use the option
April 16, 200422 yr Rob,Did you get my email? And: did you execute the changes in the SID after entering them in the FMC?Kind regards,Stephan Haaswww.lemont.nl/b767flightdeckhttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/images/sas544.jpg
April 16, 200422 yr Rob,I'm not really following you now - but if you could just provide a SCREENSHOT of the LEGS page of the FMC as well as your MCP I'm sure we could get to the bottom of it.Ian.
April 19, 200422 yr sorry Ian can you tell me how to make a screenshot in fs2002.I tried 'PrintScreen' but it didn't work. What am I doing wrong.Rob
April 19, 200422 yr PrintScrn (or Alt-PrintScrn) places a screenshot in the Windows clipboard. You then need to Alt-Tab to the desktop and run MS Paint (or have it running already and just Alt-Tab to it). Select Edit/Paste and then save the image. If you're feeling a little more adventurous, you can install a freeware program called FSScreen.exe, downloadable from: http://www.flusiforum.de/reviews/fsscreen/FSScreen.exe (I use it regularly and I don't know how I coped without it!)This intercepts the screenshot and saves it as a bitmap in it's home directory; you can then convert it to a jpeg or similar to save diskspace.Hope this helpsGeoff
April 21, 200422 yr Ian,I feed the FMC manually now. I type the sid's and stars directly into the legs page and save them because the sid's and stars I used are out of date. Somehow FSBuild doesn't seem to work correctly anymore(with all respect for FSBuild)with the FMC on my computer. I don't know why. It used to work fine but it's working now as it used to be. RegardsRob Zwang
April 21, 200422 yr Rob,I think that we shouldn't give up and should continue to find the source of your problem. FSBUILD works perfectly for me when I import plans into the PIC FMC. You should be able to enjoy the same.Once again - I am pretty sure that your problem is simply that you don't have any altitudes specified on your legs page. If we could just see a screen shot of your legs page after import we could confirm that.To take a screenshot simply hit PRINT SCREEN and then open PAINT. Press CONTROL V. and there you have it. Feel free to crop out everything except the FMC. Once you have done that - upload it to the forum and I'm sure we will have your problem worked out quickly.Unless you want to settle for manually typing stuff into the FMC everytime. As a side note - I review my entire Route in the FMC after import by first checking the ROUTE pages followed by a review of the LEGS page. I often make changes to the altitudes of the LEGS. Some of the procedures either have not enough altitude info, too much altitude info, or incorrect altitude info. It's all part of my preflight. For example - when I load KSFO..PORTE3.AVE.SADDE6..KLAX into my FMC for a flight on VATSIM after being built in FSBUILD. The first think I usually do is get rid of the altitude restrictions for the departure (Most are at or above but I generally toast them since I know I'll be making those restrictions unless ATC holds me back). Then I usually ADD a crossing restriction of 12000/280 at SYMON (cause I know they will issue me at least the 12,000) and then get rid of the 10000 foot restriction at BAYST (cause they never use it) and finally add a 7000 foot restriction at SMO.Once I'm done with my changes I hit the ACTIVATE button on the RSK at the very botom followed by the EXEC button on the FMC.Then I'm off.Perhaps someone else can show a shot of the LEGS page with altitude/speed restrictions to help that have not been executed yet to help you out.Ian.
