May 14, 200422 yr Can anyone explain the routing on this flight today...the weather dos not seem so significant that it should re-route so far north on an eastbound flight...maybe an ETOPS / MEL limitation?Just curious.Rob.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/75965.jpg

May 14, 200422 yr 60 Mins ETOPS Limitation.Need to fly within 60 mins flying time of enroute ETOPS alternates. In this case looks like it would be Frobay or Goose, Stromfjord - Greenland, Rekjavik, Glasgow or Prestwick. The 60 mins ETOPS limitation is usually applied when the APU is INOP.
May 14, 200422 yr I am betting you are right...BAW flights are flying the 'regular' / crowe routes.Rob.
May 14, 200422 yr Rob,I see this quite regular going the other way with the heaps that are the 762's that ACA use across the pond. When ever the APU is INOP they fly that Northerly Route.
May 14, 200422 yr There is no 'e' on the end of 'crow'.Self correction.I just heard back from my buddy at ACA Flt Ops/Mission Mgmt...sure enough, APU out, ETOPS limit reduced...aparently this is common problem...score 1 for Mr. McGrath.Go Flames.
May 14, 200422 yr >They obviously use FSNAV to create their flightplans!!!>:-xxrotflmao And a nice answer Mark, I've learned something new about ETOPS!Ilan
May 17, 200422 yr This is how the pond hops normally look eastbound before the daily NAT is valid...(Dayliner service)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76424.txt
