May 16, 200422 yr Hi, I know the landing light direction can be adjusted within the sim, but can they be adjusted on the real a/c, or are they fixed at 3 deg down (to match the glideslope angle) Kev BAW044
May 17, 200422 yr "but can they be adjusted on the real a/c, or are they fixed at 3 deg down"They can be adjusted, Kev, but they are simply set as per Boeing's specs. They will come out of the factory properly set up and only if the light assembly has to be replaced (or is disturbed) is it necessary to re-align them.A special light sensor/target is placed at a certain point on the tarmac (in front of the aircraft and to the side at a certain hight) and the lamp adjusted with built-in adjustment bolts/screws so that the light from the landing light (or other light) hits the light sensor/target in the right spot.I wasn't aware that the landing lights were adjusted for glideslope angle. Where did you hear this?Cheers.Ian.
May 17, 200422 yr I just presumed as landing lights they would be angled down, and as the standard approach is 3 degrees I thought they would be set for that. Thanks for the info though, much appreciated. Kev
