June 14, 200421 yr Yesterday, I took a flight to KPVD, my home airport. We did a visual to runway 23. It was very bumpy at times. About 1 mile from the threshold, this happend. It happened a coupple of times. I really thought I was going to crash. I quickly switched to the status page of the lower EICAS and even though I had full "up" elevator, it was showing full "down" elevator. THe elevator went momentarily up a coupple times but it then went back down. I don't know how, but somehow I pulled it out of it and greased a landing on 23, almost halfway dn. the runway. What do you guys think could have been wrong? Where's "Sam" from the mantanince department :) I've never had something like this happen to me. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/80009.jpgMichael CatalfamoDAL1521
June 14, 200421 yr Sounds like it may be an elevator spike. Check the FSUIPC settings and make sure rudder and elevator spike elimination is checked. I'm not near my FS computer right now and I don't recall what tab these settings are located on.Also, check your controller's calibration.
June 15, 200421 yr With the new version of FSUICP, I cant get into the setting pages like with the other one. There's just gan "about" and "logging" page.Mike CatalfamoDVA1521
June 16, 200421 yr What version of Flight Sim are you using? If you are still using FS2002 then you don't really need the newest version of FSUIPC, stick with the last freeware version, (I believe it was 2.9xxx something). If you are trying to use PIC in FS2004 then you will need the latest version of FSUIPC and you will have to register it to get full access (well worth the price BTW). However PIC does not work as it should in FS2004, I will not list the many problems here as there are MANY threads already in the forum on this topic. Suffice it to say that if you were impressed with PIC in FS2000/2002 you will likely be disappointed trying to use it in 2004 as it was not designed for this platform. For 2004 you would be better of waiting for PIC v2.... also MANY threads on the topic!
June 16, 200421 yr Ok, don't worry, I already know about the FS2004 compatibility issues :)I guess I'll go find version 2.9 somewhere :)Thanks,Mike CatalfamoDVA1521
June 18, 200421 yr Hi I had something similar a couple of times on my FS2002, just couldn't figure out what was happening (usually, pretty much at the beginning of the flight something was wrong), I restarted my FS and things were fine afterwards,Regards,Francois
