June 17, 200421 yr "Does anyone know exactly what specific model or the update is for the FMC in 767 Pilot in command? I was on a 757 recently and the Pegasus FMC hadnt got the range ring function in the fix page?"It's a hybrid... a bit of Pegasus, a bit of PIP, a bit of non-PIP... and perhaps even a bit of 747-400 :-) Probably designed to keep (almost) everyone happy.I wasn't aware that the range ring was absent on the Pegasus... I'll be sure to try it out on one of ours.By the way, was the aircraft on the ground? Note that there may be prerequisites for the range ring to appear. Some FMC functions are not active on the ground, some need a route to be entered, some need the IRS's to be aligned, etc, etc. I'm not sure if the FIX needs things like this.Cheers.Ian R.
June 17, 200421 yr Hi,Thanks Ian... no.. on the ground or in the air there is no range ring allthough everthing else appears ie Trk lines and Dtg etc?RegardsSimmslot
June 18, 200421 yr BTW, (Mr?Mrs?Miss?) Simmslot, according to the Bulfer-Gifford Big Boeing FMC Users Guide, the range ring IS an option. Airlines, therefore, may opt to have it... or not... as the case may be.Cheers.Ian.
