July 13, 200421 yr Hi allThis is not strictly a PIC767 question but as there are several 767 pilots on this forum I thought you might help. 1. What does the handle below the front window side posts do? Not the nosewheel steering handle but the one fitted on the side wall about below the side window front post which is a winding type handle??2. Fitted below the MCP is a flat box which in photographs looks to be faced with smoked perspex with lights behind...can you confirm this and indicate the type of lighting.3. Above and in front of the MCP are several small lights in the glareshield panel....what colour are these and are they behind smoked perspex....its difficult to tell from photos.Any help appreciated....my project is based on PIC767.
July 14, 200421 yr 1)handle rolls the #2 window for and aft after the window is unlocked.2)flourescent lights behind the smoked panel3)I believe they are 5 volt incandescent lights that light up the MCP behind an opaque panel that runs the length of the MCP(can't remember for sure on this one)it could be a flourescent tube.
July 14, 200421 yr Thanks WallaceRegarding the lights above the MCP I'm sure you are correct when you say 5v incandescent behind an opaque panel as I have photos that show them as about a dozen or more individual lights. In the photos these appear amber coloured which is the way incandescent lights often appear in photos. I have in mind using amber LED's for these (to keep the heat down) but white LED's behind smoked plastic might be OK too. Thanks again for your help
July 15, 200421 yr "2. Not sure if it's perspex, but it's some kind of plastic material."3. Above and in front of the MCP are several small lights in the glareshield panel....what colour are these and are they behind smoked perspex....its difficult to tell from photos."I seem to recall seeing a clear plastic stip with small lights embedded in it, but I'll double check on this.Cheers.Ian.
July 19, 200421 yr Thanks Ian...much appreciated! These sort of details are difficult to ascertain from photos.
July 19, 200421 yr I had a look at the strip lighting just above the MCP a few days ago and I couldn't tell you what kind it was just by looking at it (I restrained myself from pulling the aircraft to bits). You may have to wait until one of these actually breaks to get an answer to this one I'm afraid.Cheers.Ian.
