December 20, 200421 yr hey guyssince you know alot about 767s, I have a few questions: 1. Which spoilers work as roll control in the air (aileron)? 2. Which spoilers work as speed brake in the air? 3. Does the 767 has "flapairon" or something like that, not sure about the exact name, I meant that the ailerons (outboard / inboard) work as aileron, but also as flap.Thanx in advance for the answers.
December 20, 200421 yr "1. Which spoilers work as roll control in the air (aileron)?"All spoilers operate for roll control, until the outboard ailerons are locked (@ 275kts/M0.58). After that, the spoilers either side of the inboard aileron are not available for roll control (#4, #5, #8 & #9 are not available). Spoiler panels are numbered left to right (#1 ~ #12)"2. Which spoilers work as speed brake in the air? "All except the one panel (each wing) outboard of the inboard aileron.(#4 and #9). Also, the angle of the other spoiler panels vary (according to air/ground status)"3. Does the 767 has "flapairon" or something like that, not sure about the exact name, I meant that the ailerons (outboard / inboard) work as aileron, but also as flap."Inboard ailerons droop to behave as flaps. This varies according to flap setting.Hope this helps.Cheers.Ian R>
