December 30, 200421 yr 1. What functions does the virtual F/O perform ?also2. Features list mentions A/P and A/T disconnect switches. What exactly is meant with these ? Doesn't sound like anything new at first, but maybe I'm missing something.
December 30, 200421 yr Hi,virtual FO :- makes the procedural announcements (80 knots,V1,rotate,gear up ...)- sets the flaps (as by real procedures) and announces the flap settings- handles the gear lever and announces the gear position (gear down, three greens ...)- resets MCP altitude before starting the VNAV descent* All these options can be activated/desactivated separately and are saved in the FS2004 flight files ".flt")Disconnect switches :We added two new disconnect commands (through keyboard/joystick) that correspond to actual yoke/throttles buttons IRL.- the A/P button (on yoke IRL) disconnects the A/P (thus no need to move the bar on the MCP) and you need to push a second time to stop the A/P disconnect Warning/aural.- the A/T button (on throttles IRL) disconnects the A/T without moving the A/T switch (that stays in "ARM"). Also, you need to push the button a second time to clear the A/T disconnect message/light. The old commands (that move the disco bar & the A/T switch) are of course still available.
