December 24, 200520 yr hi!I've just read that fuel jettison is only possible if the center tanks contain fuel. is this correct?if yes, what's the logic of that? is it the same in the real 767 too?regards and marry X-MasRob
December 24, 200520 yr The jettison pumps only pump fuel from the center tank. They can't get at the fuel in the wings. There is no means of transferring fuel into the center tank except for the few pounds that the vent system may occasionally deposit therein, so no way to dump fuel from the left and right tank.Tony Vallillo
December 28, 200520 yr "if yes, what's the logic of that? "Fuel dumping is required to get the aircraft below the maximum certified landing weight.I guess you're just wasting fuel if you dump any more than this.Cheers.Q.
December 28, 200520 yr but look, if you have lots of payload and your wing tanks are full of fuel you can be easily above the MLW.cheersRob
